SAGU Can’t Catch Up to LSU Shreveport

Waxahachie, TX – SAGU fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-7 loss to No. 10 ranked Louisiana State Shreveport on Tuesday. Despite the loss, the Lions collected 12 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, LSU Shreveport had 13 hits on the way to victory.
 
The Pilots fired up the offense in the first inning as Austin McNicholas double on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. LSUS would run away with the game in the seventh inning though as they added four runs. Brad White pitched for the Pilots earning victory after surrendering two runs on five hits over four inning and striking out five.
 
Cade Hendricks took the loss for SAGU as the right hander went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out two. The Lions launched one home run on the day as Timothy Compomizzi had a four bagger in the eighth inning.
 
Ben Bills, JV Verdin, Compomizzi, and Cade Dorethey each collected two hits for the Lions.
