Waxahachie, TX – SAGU managed through a push by Southwestern Christian University in the ninth inning where the Lions coughed up seven runs but still won 14-10 on Friday. Bats blistered as SAGU collected eight hits and the Eagles tallied nine in the high-scoring game. The Lions got things moving in the first inning as
Timothy Compomizzi drew a walk, scoring one run.
SAGU put up five runs in the fifth inning. The Lions' big bats in the inning were led by
Bryson Collins and
Alejandro Garcia, a walk by
Ben Bills, a sac fly by
Cade Hendricks, and an error on a ball put in play by
Craig Venable.
Ethan Nors earned the win for SAGU. The pitcher went eight innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Hamilton Moye, and
Logan Mann entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Henrry Ogando took the loss for Southwestern Christian University. The right-hander went one-third of an inning, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out one.
SAGU smacked one home run on the day. Collins went deep in the fourth inning. The Lions tallied eight hits in the game. Bills and Collins each had two hits to lead SAGU.
The Lions now sit at 27-7 on the year and 12-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. SAGU will continue the weekend series against Southwestern Christian tomorrow in a doubleheader starting at 12pm.
