SAGU Reels in Three Seed in SAC Baseball Tournament

Oklahoma City – SAGU Baseball snared the No. 3 seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference baseball tournament opening 11 a.m. Friday at Oklahoma City's Jim Wade Stadium and Science and Arts' Bill Smith Ballpark in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
 
The Lions will face the No. 6 seed Wayland Baptist at 2:30 PM on Friday, May 6, at Bill Smith Ballpark in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Live coverage will be available.

The tournament is divided into two double-elimination brackets. No. 1 seed Oklahoma City will (43-4) meet No. 8 seed Panhandle State (14-34) at 11 a.m. Friday in Oklahoma City. No. 4 seed Texas Wesleyan (33-17) faces Mid-America Christian (28-18) at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Jim Wade Stadium. No. 2 seed Science & Arts (32-12), No. 3 seed SAGU (35-12), No. 6 seed Wayland Baptist (27-21) and No. 7 seed Southwestern Christian (26-23) comprise the bracket in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The teams that take each bracket will tangle for the SAC Tournament crown 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Jim Wade Stadium.
 
SAGU enters the tournament with a regular season record of 35-12 after finishing third in the conference standings. The Lions were 16-8 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. In their previous meeting with Wayland Baptist, SAGU swept the three-game series, and each game was decided by two runs or less.
