LCU completes series sweep of SAGU

April 29, 2023

Pineville, LA – On Saturday evening at the Billy Allgood Field in Pineville, Louisiana, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions baseball team closed their road series against the Louisiana Christian University (LCU) Wildcats.

Lions Review

In the game's final faceoff, the Wildcats completed the series sweep of the SAGU Lions with a score of 3-0. Bryson Collins was the only SAGU player to record a hit in his at-bat attempts during a challenging offensive outing for the SAGU Lions.

On the mound, Matthew Hickey put out a strong effort, striking out six Wildcat batters. In 28 hitters faced, Matthew Hickey threw 75 strikes in total. In addition, Reagan Smith added a strikeout.

In a rare occurrence, the SAGU Lions, who stole over 100 bases for the first time in their program's history, could not display their cunning baserunning abilities during the loss on the road.
