Waxahachie, TX — Nelson University freshman Joseph Helm has been named the NCCAA Men's Cross Country Division I Student-Athlete of the Week for his standout performance at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
The Red Oak, Texas native clocked an impressive 28:28.7 in the men's 8K, leading the Lions against a stacked multi-division field. His performance placed him 303rd overall out of hundreds of collegiate runners across NCAA, NAIA, and NCCAA levels marking one of the best times of his young collegiate career.
Helm's leadership and consistency continue to set the tone for Nelson's emerging cross country program, as the Lions finished 30th overall behind his strong showing.
