Waxahachie, TX — Nelson University goalkeeper Amir Raime has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
Raime anchored the Lions' defense through an impressive week of play, recording back-to-back clean sheets to lead Nelson to a pair of key conference victories. The junior keeper finished the week with five total saves, including a standout performance with four crucial stops in the Lions' 1–0 victory over Texas Wesleyan.
The two shutouts mark Raime's third and fourth clean sheets of the season, underscoring his poise in goal as Nelson continues its push through SAC play. His leadership from the back line and ability to come up clutch in key moments have been central to the Lions' recent surge.
Other nominees for the weekly award included Adam Tebbs (John Brown), Olai Caicoya (Oklahoma Panhandle State), Angel Diaz (Science & Arts), Alex Neri (Wayland Baptist), and Axel Tonietto (Texas Wesleyan).
