Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lions showcased their offensive firepower in a high-octane 23-13 victory over Park University on Sunday afternoon at the Lions Athletic Complex. The thrilling seven-inning battle saw the Lions erupt for eight runs in the final inning, capping off a game filled with big hits, aggressive baserunning, and clutch performances.
After falling behind 9-4 in the fourth inning, Nelson mounted a furious comeback, flipping the momentum and never looking back. The Lions' relentless approach at the plate overwhelmed Park's pitching staff, securing a statement win before heading into conference play.
The Lions' bats were unstoppable, as they racked up 15 hits and drove in 22 RBIs. Leading the charge was Josh Pinter, who went 2-for-4 with 5 RBIs, delivering multiple clutch hits to keep the rally alive. Tate Thrasher also had a monster day, going 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs, including a game-breaking double in the fourth inning.
