Lions Complete the Sweep Over Park in Statement Weekend

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

Cleburne & Waxahachie, TX | February 15–16, 2026 – The Nelson Lions didn't just win the series. They owned it.

Behind explosive offense, clutch pitching, and relentless pressure on the basepaths, Nelson swept Park University in dominant fashion, pushing their record to 11-3 and sending a clear message across the SAC and NAIA landscape.

Game 1: Nelson 10, Park 3
The Lions wasted no time setting the tone.

After grabbing an early lead in the first, Nelson put up crooked numbers in the second, fifth, and sixth innings to pull away. Eight walks, three hit-by-pitches, and timely swings created constant traffic on the bases.

Offensive Leaders:

On the mound, Mario Velasco earned the win (1-0), grinding through 4.1 innings before handing it to H. Moye, who shut the door with 2.2 scoreless frames.

Game 2: Nelson 17, Park 7

If Game 1 was controlled, Game 2 was an offensive avalanche.

Nelson exploded for five runs in the first and followed it with an eight-run third inning that completely flipped the game into a runaway.

Big Swings:

The Lions piled up 11 hits and 15 RBI in a complete offensive clinic.

Game 3: Nelson 4, Park 3 (Extra Innings)

In a tightly contested battle that stretched into extras, Nelson leaned on pitching depth and clutch execution to walk it off 4-3.

Key Contributors:

The bullpen was lights out late, and Nelson's staff combined for 15 strikeouts in the finale to seal the sweep.
