Waxahachie, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Women's basketball team played their second game of the season against a tough Mid-America Christian University (MACU) team. The game started off with both teams playing fast and shooting the ball well from the field. At the end of the first, MACU led by 4 points. To begin the second quarter, MACU took it to a different level and did not look back from there. The Lady Lions played hard, the improvement from the first game is noticeable and they will look to get their first win of the season this weekend.
Notable Performers
- Sydney Meador(SR/Denton, TX) led the Lions with 23 points, shooting 7-14 from the field.
- Alexis Casher(SR/ Irvington, AL) had another dominant night on the glass with 14 rebounds. She added 6 points and 3 assists on the night
- Tamera Derrough(JR/Arlington, TX) scored 22 points and brought in 5 rebounds. A solid night for the Lady Lions starting guard.
- SAGU forced 18 TO, and had 9 steals to go along with that.
