Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Football played their first game of the spring season on the road against Langston University. The Lions were able to come away with a victory, the final score was 31-20. Early the Lions jumped out to lead with a
Jordan Barlow connection to
Jamal Long, from that point on the Lions were rolling. Another passing touchdown from
Jordan Barlow pushed the lead to 14-0. The Lions took a 21-14 lead going into halftime, with the passing game contributing for all three touchdowns.
Bryce Bailey comes up huge with a punt block touchdown which gave the Lions a 14-point lead going into the fourth quarter. A late field goal by
Kieran Woodley sealed the win for the Lions, as they made it a 2-possession game 31-20. The Lions came prepared and executed the game planned against a good Langston team. They will look to carry this momentum into next week's match up against Lyon College.
