Waxahachie, TX – The SAGU Men's Soccer team took a 6-2 win over Arlington Baptist on Tuesday afternoon giving them their second win a row and improving their 2021 season record to 3-2 as they enter Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Juan Ambriz gave life to the SAGU offense early in the match as he scored his first goal of the afternoon in the 18
th minute. Ambriz would go on to find the back of the net three more times in the 65
th minute, 71
st minute, and 76
th minute, giving him four total goals on the day. Ambriz's third goal on the day also gave the Lions the lead after trailing 2-1 in the first half.
Jacop Sang and
Mario Banegas put the game away with goals in the 79
th minute and the 88
th minute. Five goals in the second half would prove to be too much for Arlington Baptist as the Lions took the 6-2 victory.
Julio Guevara saw all 90 minutes in goal and accumulated 8 saves on the day and secured the win for the Lions. The SAGU Men's Soccer team improves to 3-2 on the year as they now begin Sooner Athletic Conference play.
