Goodwell, OK – The SAGU Women's Soccer team fell 2-1 to Oklahoma Panhandle State University in their first conference matchup of the 2021 season. The Lions came into the match 4-2 after winning three straight matches with a goal differential of 23-0.
SAGU went up 1-0 in the 33
rd minute of the match as
Rylee Thatcher found the back of the net. Thatcher now totals a team high seven goals on the season for the Lions with a .318 shooting percentage.
The Aggies would go on to tie it up in the 40
th minute of the match as Regan Ake scored Oklahoma Panhandle's first goal of the night. Ake would go on to score the game winning goal just nine minutes later in the 49
th minute of the match.
With this loss, SAGU now sits at 4-3 on the year and 0-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
