Season of the Lady Lions finishes in SAC tournament quarterfinals

November 3, 2022

Chickasha, OK: The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions earned their spot as the 8th seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Tournament to play the 1st seed Drovers of the University of Science and Arts. The first-round playoff matchup features the Drovers star striker Emma Rice who led the USAO team to an undefeated SAC regular season record. The Lady Lions, on the other hand, would lean on star goalkeeper Zoe Boldt to guide traffic and convey strategies for maintaining the defensive arrangements.

Lions Review

  • The Lady Lions were delighted to see their hometown supporters at their away game and beaming as the match started.
  • As the Lady Lions opened the game by playing exceptionally competitive soccer, their grins distorted into great attention and aggressiveness.
  • To her striker teammates, Zoe Boldt would direct traffic and punt long bomb kicks.
  • The Drovers ultimately broke the scoreless stalemate after 34 minutes of scoreless play in the opening postseason game of the season. For the remainder of the first half, the score remained 1-0.
  • The Drovers tried 22 shots as a team, 14 of which were on goal, while the Lions only attempted three attempts, none of which were succeeding.
  • All-Conference performer Emma Rice stepped up for the Drovers, and with her goal in the game, she increased her career total to 128 goals, which is eighth in NAIA history. This would occur despite SAGU goalie Zoe Boldt's outstanding masterclass performance.
