Lion Review
-
The Lady Lions' double-double machine Taylor Moravick got the game started in fine form by grabbing an offensive rebound and converting it into a putback basket.
-
The Lady Lion's unconventionally large starting lineup would pay off as Kyla McMinn scored the Lady Lions' second bucket in the paint off of a sweet Rylee Lavender assist.
-
Lavender made her first basket of the night screen-assisted by McMinn. Neeley Tilley-Bedick, one of the Lady Lions' top shooters, knocked down the first SAGU three of the contest from well behind the line.Â
-
The score at the Drover Fieldhouse favored USAO 16-24 after the 1st quarter of play.
-
To begin the second quarter action, a steal and fastbreak lead to a fastball pass from Rylee Lavender to Neeley Tilley-Bedick for an easy layup.
-
Kyla McMinn would slide and beat a driving Drover to a spot for a charge that exhilarated the Lions squad and forced the Drovers to call a timeout.Â
-
Autumn Moore scored her first basket on a rebound put back in heavy Drover traffic.
-
Rylee Lavender scored 14 first-half points to lead both teams in the scoring department.Â
-
The Lady Lions would struggle to score more in the third quarter, making only 2/13 of their shot attempts.Â
-
In the end, despite forcing the Drover squad to have poor shooting percentages and out rebonding them, the Lady Lions were unable to snap the USAO winning streak. A disparity in the number of free throw shots was the key to the game.
-
Neeley Tilley-Bedick led the Lions with 19 points. Rylee Lavender added 14 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
