Waxahachie, TX - In a spectacular matchup between NCCAA affiliates that took place on a cloudy Tuesday evening at the Lions Athletic Complex in Waxahachie, Texas, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions soccer team faced off against the Arlington Baptist University (ABU) Patriots. The reigning NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, Anna Bewley, and the red hot Lady Lions showcased their offensive prowess, unleashing a scoring avalanche to defeat ABU in a jaw-dropping 14-0 victory.
First Half Fury
The Lady Lions wasted no time and began a complete onslaught on the ABU defense, amassing an astonishing nine goals in the first half. The scoring frenzy was led by Anna Bewley, who netted a remarkable three goals (her third consecutive hat trick), and Stephanie Hernandez, who matched her with her own sensational first half hat trick. Paula Moreno Gomez, Ansley Meza, and Kyra Smith also contributed with a goal each, turning the first half into a goal-scoring extravaganza.
Teamwork and Playmaking Brilliance
Crisp passing and impeccable teamwork were the hallmarks of the Lady Lions' first-half performance.
