Oklahoma City, OK - In a highly anticipated Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) showdown, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions soccer team faced off against the No. 1 ranked Mid-America Christian University (MACU) Evangels at the Dill Soccer Field in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
First Half
MACU managed to take a 1-0 lead into halftime, showcasing their early advantage in a closely contested match.
Second Half
The second half saw a thrilling turn of events as Ethan Stewart, with a remarkable unassisted goal in the 47th minute, ignited the Lions' chances of taking the lead against the top-ranked opponent. However, the Evangels answered with back-to-back goals, intensifying the pressure.
Undeterred, the Lions demonstrated their fighting spirit as John Garcia displayed dazzling footwork to score in the 67th minute. The SAGU offense continued to battle and push for a tie or lead, but the MACU squad managed to hold on to secure the win.
