December 16, 2023

Dallas, TX - In a nail-biting Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) clash at the Dallas Cedar Valley College Campus, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions closed out 2023 in spectacular fashion, clinching an exhilarating 86-83 victory against the University of North Texas - Dallas (UNTD) Trailblazers.

Lions Review
The Lions set the tone with an impressive scoring run at the beginning of the contest, led by the dynamic duo of CJ Hall and Noah Boling. Hall and Boling showcased their playmaking skills and sharp shooting, while JJ Boling and CJ Kelley added grit and toughness, contributing to the Lions' interior scoring dominance.

SAGU applied heavy defensive pressure, forcing the Trailblazers into turnovers and challenging shots. CJ Hall, not only a scoring powerhouse but also a leader on the court, demonstrated exceptional communication with teammates and sank heavily contested jumpers. Trace Boling made a memorable entrance into the game, delivering a highlight-worthy bounce pass to extend the Lions' lead.

At the halftime intermission, the Lions maintained a slim 45-43 lead, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

In the second half, the Hall brothers, CJ and Alerick Hall, elevated their game to another level. Blazing speed on the fast break, coupled with elite pump fakes and footwork, allowed them to score with finesse. The Lions' victory was sealed with clutch shooting from CJ Hall and stellar defense from Justin Collins.
