Waxahachie, TX - In a heated clash at the Sheaffer Center in Waxahachie, Texas, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions emerged victorious in a nail-biting encounter against their crosstown rivals, the Texas Wesleyan University (TXWES) Rams.

From the opening tip-off, the Lady Lions showcased determination, establishing dominance in the paint. The dynamic forward duo of Agar Farres Garcia and Kyla McMinn set the tone, controlling the offensive glass and exhibiting finesse in their scoring.
Despite trailing 20-17 at the end of the first period, the Lady Lions bounced back in the second. Autumn Moore's and-one layup marked a turning point, as SAGU regained the lead. A buzzer-beater from Cailyn Tucker sent the teams into halftime with the Lady Lions leading 36-33.
At the halfway mark, Agar Farres Garcia neared a double-double with an impressive 12 points and eight rebounds, while Kyla McMinn contributed seven first half points and three first half assists.
The third period was a fiery battle, fueled by hustle plays from Chanie Chambers, Wendy Clemmons, and Neeley Tilley-Bedick, igniting the home crowd. Clutch shooting and staunch team defense in the fourth quarter secured a 73-70 victory for the Lady Lions.
