The Lions defeat the Wildcats with their strong batting

April 11, 2023

Marshall, TX – On Tuesday evening at Airport Park in Marshall, Texas, the No. 24 Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions baseball team faced the Wiley College (WC) Wildcats in a single-game faceoff.

Lions Review:

In a 16-9 defeat against the No. 24 Lions, the Wiley College baseball team fought late but could not overturn an early disadvantage.

The Lions had a lot of success during the contest on their at-bat attempts. For SAGU, Andrew Ortiz (2), Bryson Collins (3), Timothy Compomizzi, Alejandro Garcia (2), James Maddox Henderson, Dominic Padilla (3), and Eric Crum all contributed RBIs.

With the bats clicking at such a high rate, the SAGU attack produced fourteen hits, double Wiley's total of seven hits for the contest. Bryson Collins' triple to right field in the top of the eighth inning to drive in three runs was one of the game's most stunning plays.

The SAGU Lions used every potent pitcher in their collection to win the game.
