Chickasha, OK – On Thursday afternoon in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced off against  series against the Southwestern Christian University (SCU) Eagles in the first game of the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Tournament.

Lions Review 

The 6th seed SAGU Lady Lions cam close in a 3-4 loss to the 3rd seed MACU Evangels.The Lady Lions fell behind early against the Evangels, trailing 0-3 after 2 innings. The Lions fought back and scored three unanswered runs in the 3rd and 4th inning to tie the game. Looking like extra innings were in sight, the Evangels unexpectedly hit a walk off single to drive in the winning run. 

Airiana Magdaleno and McKenzie Schulze batted in RBIs of their own on three hits. Airiana Magdaleno and Sasha Jennings also added in stolen bases, helping the Lady Lions get into scoring positions.

Trista Ford faced 22 batters, striking out 4 of them and allowing 6 hits.

The Lady Lions will face off against the 7th seed Central Christian Tigers on Friday, May 5th at 11:00 am.
