Lions Review
From the first serve to the final point, this matchup did not disappoint. The Lady Lions came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, displaying impeccable teamwork and a relentless drive to succeed. Mackenzie Smith, one of the stars of the night, led the charge with a stellar performance, contributing eight kills that consistently kept the Arlington Baptist defense on their toes. Emma Tompkins also shone brightly with seven crucial kills, while Lilly Hanna added five more to the tally.

The Lady Lions' success wasn't just about their offensive prowess; their defensive game was equally remarkable. Tessa Glick showcased her exceptional digging skills, amassing a team-high of 14 digs that prevented Arlington Baptist from gaining any momentum. Riley Burcham orchestrated the offense with precision, tallying an impressive 15 assists, while freshman Cassidy Hargesheimer demonstrated her potential with 13 assists, further highlighting the team's depth and promising future.

SAGU's remarkable performance was not an anomaly, as it marked their fifth consecutive three-set victory this season. The Lady Lions have showcased their unwavering determination and ability to maintain their winning streak, consistently leaving their opponents in awe.

After the match, Head Volleyball Coach Hank Moore praised the team's relentless work ethic and highlighted their commitment to excellence on and off the court. "The kids played well tonight. I felt that our serve and pass game was very good. Our kids played very well on all aspects of the game. ABU kids played a good match and fought hard through all three sets. It was a good night to be able to play a lot of kids who stepped in and competed at a high level. This was a good match to look at a few things we know we have to improve on for this week's conference play," Coach Moore said.

With this triumphant victory over Arlington Baptist University, the SAGU Lady Lions have solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the SAC. As the season unfolds, fans eagerly anticipate more exhilarating matches and memorable moments from this outstanding team Sep 15 (Fri) at 6 PM as the Ladies hit the road to face Oklahoma City University.
