Lions Review

One of the standout performers of the evening was Lilly Hanna, who showcased her prowess on the court. Hanna recorded an impressive 6 kills and boasted a remarkable .500 hitting percentage. Her precise and powerful hits were instrumental in securing crucial points for the Lady Lions throughout the match. Hanna's performance not only demonstrated her individual talent but also her invaluable contribution to the team's success.

Another key player who played an instrumental role in the Lady Lions' victory was Cassidy Hargesheimer. Hargesheimer demonstrated her exceptional skills as a setter, leading the team with an impressive 15 assists. Her ability to distribute the ball effectively to her teammates allowed the Lady Lions to maintain control of the game and execute their plays with precision.

While individual performances shone brightly, it was the collective effort and determination of the entire Lady Lions squad that ultimately led to their triumph.

The Lady Lions absolutely dominated the statistical battle at the net, recording a jaw-dropping 14 blocks compared to MACU's meager 2, in a display of sheer dominance and control.

From the very first whistle, it was evident that the Lady Lions were determined to own the net. Their exceptional teamwork, impeccable timing, and incredible vertical leaps created a seemingly impenetrable wall for MACU. The Lady Lions' blockers were a force to be reckoned with, consistently shutting down MACU's attempts to attack. The deafening cheers from the SAGU faithful echoed throughout the Sheaffer Center with every block, setting the tone for a memorable night. Lilly Hanna lead the team with nine blocks.

Another highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the presence of Ava Myers, a former standout player for the Lady Lions. Ava's return to her alma mater was met with thunderous applause and a warm welcome from fans, teammates, and coaches alike. Her impact on the program during her time at SAGU was evident, and her return was a reminder of the enduring bonds formed within the SAGU volleyball family.

With Ava Myers in the stands, the Lady Lions were inspired to put on a show, and they did not disappoint. The team showcased their remarkable talent and unity on the court, securing a hard-fought victory in front of their beloved alum.

"This was a good win for our kids tonight. We dug holes in all three sets, but the kids fought hard to overcome early deficits. I felt all our kids played well at times. Our blocking was the difference tonight. We out-blocked MACU 14-2. Lilly Hanna had an amazing match with six kills on ten swings and a .500 hitting percentage, but she also added one solo block and eight assisted blocks. That gave her five blocks on the night. Both of our middles hit the ball extremely well. Karena finished with 5 kills and 0 hitting errors. She also added 4 assist blocks. Both of our setters had great nights. Riley had 11 assist and 7 digs. Cassidy Hargesheimer had 15 assist and 6 digs. Tessa Glick led us in digs with 13. But, her leadership on the floor was incredible. We are so blessed with great leadership from all our upper class men. This was a good win over a good volleyball team in MACU. We have all the respect in the world for one of the classiest programs in the NAIA," SAGU Head Volleyball Coach Hank Moore said.
