Plainview, TX - In an intense Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) showdown, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions clashed with the RV Wayland Baptist University (WBU) Flying Queens in a road contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats in Plainview, Texas.
The Flying Queens, known as the winningest program in women's basketball history, posed a formidable challenge for the Lady Lions from the start.

The game kicked off with Autumn Moore's midrange pull-up jumper, setting the stage for an action-packed contest. Wendy Clemmons showcased aggressiveness in the Lady Lions' full-court press defense, while Agar Farres Garcia effectively protected the rim with her length.
Despite commendable defensive rotations, the Lady Lions faced challenges securing defensive rebounds, allowing the Flying Queens to capitalize on offensive boards and convert them into points in the paint.
Chanie Chambers provided a scoring boost off the bench with her long-range shooting, and
Autumn Moore, undeterred by the first-period deficit, confidently launched three-pointers, tying the game with 5 minutes left in the second period.
Neeley Tilley-Bedick's steal and score regained the Lady Lions' lead, and at the end of the first half, they held a narrow 31-30 advantage.
A back-and-forth third period, featuring plenty of scoring action, concluded with Rylee Lavender's buzzer-beater three, leaving both teams tied at 50-50 heading into the fourth period.
Despite a fiery fourth quarter, the Lady Lions ultimately fell short to Wayland, with the final score standing at 67-58.

Looking ahead, the Lady Lions will embark on their next challenge, traveling to Goodwell, Oklahoma, where they are set to face the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies on Saturday at 2:00 PM, concluding their road trip.
