Waxahachie, TX - In a riveting Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) clash, the No. 25 Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions engaged in an exhilarating battle against the Southwestern Christian University (SCU) Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the Sheaffer Center in Waxahachie, Texas.

Despite Southwestern Christian's winless record this season, they boldly embraced the challenge, utilizing a zone defense to secure an early eight-point advantage. However, the Lions found their rhythm, unleashing a barrage of three-pointers and showcasing exceptional ball movement.
The turning point came with the explosive scoring tandem of Cortland Blake and CJ Hall, stealing the lead with an electrifying run. The duo, highlighted by fast-break baskets and dazzling passes, captivated the crowd and shifted the momentum firmly in SAGU's favor.
Noah Jonker and Trace Boling contributed valuable minutes in dissecting the zone defense, propelling the Lions to a halftime lead of 43-30. CJ Hall led all first-half scorers with 10 points, while Cortland Blake and Noah Jonker each tallied nine points. Alerick Hall and CJ Hall both recorded five assists in the opening half.
Noah Jonker's masterful performance in the second half, delivering scoring from downtown and inside the paint, contributed significantly to the Lions' lead. Cortland Blake continued to score in bunches, showcasing the team's dynamic forward duo. Alerick Hall's brilliant passing closed out the game as the Lions secured a decisive 94-73 victory.
