Siloam Springs, AR – The Nelson University Lady Lions women's soccer team hit the road for a tough Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) matchup against John Brown University on Saturday, October 19. Despite their determination, the Lady Lions were unable to contain John Brown's offensive attack, resulting in a 6-0 defeat at Alumni Field.
Lady Lion Review
The Lady Lions started the match with determination but found themselves facing a strong opposing defense that limited their attacking opportunities. Nelson registered five shots throughout the game, with only one of them on target. Forward Anna Bewley and midfielder Daisy Altamirano were able to push forward, creating chances, but the opposing defense kept Nelson from finding the back of the net.
Goalkeeper Tanner Sorenson had an active afternoon in goal, making 9 crucial saves during her 67 minutes on the field. When Sorenson exited, Samantha Longoria stepped in and contributed another save in her 23 minutes of action. Despite the defensive effort from the backline and goalkeepers, Nelson University couldn't halt the offensive pressure from John Brown.
