Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lady Lions (21-4, 16-0 SAC) returned home to an electric crowd for their highly anticipated "Pink Out" game, aiming to protect their perfect Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) record on Friday night. Their opponent, Oklahoma Panhandle State University (8-16, 6-10 SAC), had little room to disrupt Nelson's incredible season, as the Lady Lions delivered a flawless 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-12, 25-10) at the Sheaffer Center.
Fans filled the stands in a sea of pink, rallying behind the team's efforts both on and off the court in support of breast cancer awareness. The Lady Lions, donning pink shirts of their own, played with passion, matching the vibrant energy of their supporters.
From the first serve, Nelson's precision and power were on full display. Lilly Hanna once again led the charge with 10 kills, hitting an impressive .333, while teammates Caroline Boone and Mackenzie Smith added 10 and 7 kills, respectively. The offense was ignited by Cassidy Hargesheimer's superb 19 assists, and Taylor Cavazos orchestrated the attack with 17 assists of her own.
The Lady Lions' defensive efforts also shone brightly. Tessa Glick anchored the back row with 15 digs, and Lindi Boling contributed to the dominating serving performance, racking up a match-high 8 service aces. As a team, Nelson out-dug OPSU 66-48 and served up 14 aces, overwhelming the Aggies on both ends of the court.
Oklahoma Panhandle State struggled to find their rhythm, mustering only 13 kills as Nelson's stifling defense and consistent offensive pressure limited their opportunities. The Aggies' top performer, Taylore Alsaid, finished with 4 kills and 6 digs, but it wasn't enough to combat the depth and talent of the Lady Lions.

With their eyes still set on an undefeated conference season, the Lady Lions will quickly shift their focus to Saturday's showdown against Wayland Baptist at 1:00 PM in the Sheaffer Center.
