Kate Miller also contributed with two clutch three-pointers in the opening frame, helping Nelson to a 21-14 lead.

The momentum shifted in the second quarter as MACU tightened their defense, limiting Nelson to just 11 points on 35.7% shooting. MACU took advantage of turnovers and second-chance opportunities, outscoring the Lady Lions 19-11 to take a 33-32 lead into halftime.

Nelson regrouped in the third quarter, with Julianna Matlock providing a spark off the bench. Matlock's energy led to 11 points on an efficient 4-for-4 shooting performance, including three triples. The Lady Lions outscored MACU 24-16 in the third frame, reclaiming the lead and setting up a tense final quarter.
