Lions Review
From the opening tip-off, the Lions demonstrated their defensive prowess and cohesive teamwork, stifling the Eagles' offensive efforts and establishing an early lead. Cortland Blake showcased his sharpshooting skills, raining down a barrage of long-range three-pointers to extend SAGU's advantage. Blake's dominance wasn't limited to scoring, as he also commanded the boards with six offensive rebounds in the first half.
The Hall brothers, CJ and Alerick, contributed to the Lions' offensive onslaught, combining for crucial points to further bolster SAGU's lead. Heading into halftime with a commanding 43-28 advantage, the Lions displayed confidence and determination on both ends of the court.
As the second half unfolded, Noah Jonker emerged as a dynamic force off the bench, draining three-pointers with precision off dime passes from CJ Hall. Hall's exceptional playmaking skills propelled the Lions' offense, igniting a flurry of scoring opportunities and forcing the Eagles to call a timeout in a bid to regroup.
Despite JBU's attempts to adjust, they were unable to contain the Lions' offensive firepower, as SAGU surged ahead to secure an impressive 85-70 victory.
