Lady Lions Split Road Doubleheader with Dallas Christian

Farmers Branch, TX - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions Softball team engaged in an exhilarating doubleheader clash against Dallas Christian College in Farmers Branch, Texas, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Game 1
In the opening matchup, the Lady Lions showcased their prowess with a commanding 10-1 victory over Dallas Christian. McKenzie Schulze emerged as the offensive juggernaut, going 3 for 3 at the plate, including a double and a spectacular home run, accumulating 3 runs scored and an impressive 4 RBIs. Trista Ford and Avery Coleman also made significant contributions, each securing 2 hits and making their presence felt on the scoreboard. Hailey Ledbetter added to the offensive barrage with a crucial double, driving in 2 runs.

On the mound, Natalie Zamora delivered another stellar performance, pitching 4 innings while conceding only 1 earned run on 4 hits. Annie Charanza provided solid relief, shutting down Dallas Christian's offense to secure the convincing victory for the Lady Lions.

Game 2
Despite their valiant efforts, the Lady Lions fell short in a nail-biting 8-7 defeat against Dallas Christian in the second game of the doubleheader. Sasha Jennings led the charge with a resilient 2 for 5 performance at the plate, crossing the plate twice. Myranda Lewis showcased her offensive prowess, tallying 3 runs, while Trista Ford and Makinzy Kneip contributed with timely hits and RBIs.

However, the Lady Lions faced a formidable challenge on the mound, with Valerie Guzman battling through 4 innings and conceding 3 earned runs. Annie Charanza, despite her earlier heroics, couldn't stave off Dallas Christian's late surge, ultimately absorbing the loss.

The Lady Lions next showdown is scheduled against Harris-Stowe State University on March 1st at the prestigious USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, OK.
