Plainview, TX - In a big time clash in Plainview, Texas, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions squared off against the Wayland Baptist University (JBU) Flying Queens in a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Tournament First Round showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats.
Lady Lions Review
From the opening tip-off, it was clear both teams were ready to leave it all on the court. Led by the dynamic duo of Neeley Tilley-Bedick and Rylee Lavender, the Lady Lions came out swinging, showcasing their trademark grit and determination. Cailyn Tucker added her offensive prowess to the mix, controlling the pace and keeping the pressure on the Flying Queens.
After a low-scoring second quarter, the Lady Lions faced a sizable task to get back into the contest. However, Wendy Clemmons emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the second half, fighting valiantly to propel her team forward.
Despite the Lady Lions' spirited effort, the Flying Queens ultimately won the statistical battle, particularly on the glass and in assists, securing an 82-62 victory. Wendy Clemmons led the charge for the Lady Lions with an impressive stat line of 21 points, 7 rebounds, and five assists, showcasing her versatility and impact on both ends of the floor. Neeley Tilley-Bedick contributed 14 points, while Cailyn Tucker added nine points to the scoreboard.
