Waxahachie, TX - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions Baseball team ignited the Lions Athletic Complex with an exhilarating nine-inning clash against cross-town rivals Texas Wesleyan University (TXWES) in a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) showdown.
Lions Review
Despite a valiant effort, the Lions suffered a tough defeat to Texas Wesleyan in the conference opener. Avery Chatman led the charge at the plate, delivering an impressive 4 for 6 performance with 2 doubles and crucial contributions to the scoreboard. Andrew Ortiz and Dominick Padilla also showcased their offensive prowess, while Jared Kirk's clutch hitting provided a spark for the Lions' offense. Wesley Flatt rounded out the offensive highlights, putting together a stellar 4 for 5 outing.
On the mound, Matthew Hickey battled through a challenging start, with Hayden Mullins and Justin De Los Santos stepping in to provide relief efforts.
