Drew Ortiz's Heroics Propel SAGU Lions to Dominant Victory Over Central Christian

McPherson, KS - In a game filled with excitement and jaw-dropping moments, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions showcased their talent in a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series finale against Central Christian College, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats.

 

Lions Review 
The Lion's emerged triumphant with a resounding 22-11 victory over Central Christian. At the forefront of their dominance was the sensational performance of Andrew Ortiz, who seemingly had the Midas touch at the plate. Ortiz's remarkable 4-for-4 display included an astonishing 3 home runs, accounting for 9 RBIs and a stolen base, leaving the opposition in awe of his power at bat. Joining Ortiz in the offensive barrage were teammates Dominick Padilla, Eli Lyons, Avery Chatman, Xavien Thompson, and Wesley Flatt, each contributing to the Lions' commanding victory with their own stellar performances.

On the mound, Reagan Smith demonstrated his mettle, securing the win for the Lions after a solid 5-inning outing, where he allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits while tallying 5 strikeouts. Neco Lopez, Hayden Mullins, and Caden Hendricks also made significant contributions, ensuring the Lions maintained their stronghold on the game and sealed the series with an exclamation point.
 

Looking Ahead
The Lions now with eyes set on continued success eagerly anticipate their upcoming clash against Southwestern Christian on March 15th at 12 PM in the Lions Athletic Complex.
