Waxahachie, TX - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions Baseball team unleashed a formidable display of power as they clinched a commanding 14-1 victory against the Southwestern Christian University (SCU) Eagles in the finale of their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series. The showdown took place at the Lions Athletic Complex in Waxahachie, Texas, igniting cheers of joy among the home crowd on Monday afternoon.
Lions Review
In a display of sheer offensive firepower, the Lions left an indelible mark on the field. Avery Chatman's stellar performance saw him going 1 for 4, including a crucial double, rallying 2 RBIs while crossing the plate once. Xavien Thompson showcased his batting prowess with a 2 for 4 outing, punctuated by a powerful home run, scoring twice and tallying an impressive 4 RBIs. Andrew Ortiz contributed to the offensive onslaught, going 1 for 2 with a double, adding a run to the scoreboard along with an RBI. Dominick Padilla showcased his hitting prowess, going 2 for 4 with a double, scoring a run, and rallying 2 RBIs. Eli Lyons and Josh Pinter also made significant contributions, with Lyons going a perfect 2 for 2 and Pinter launching a home run in his 1 for 1 performance, scoring a run and tallying an RBI. Wesley Flatt rounded off the offensive showcase, going 1 for 2, scoring 2 runs, and adding another RBI to the Lions' dominant display.
On the mound, Reagan Smith delivered a masterful performance, securing the win after an impressive 5-inning stint where he conceded no earned runs and limited the opposition to just 3 hits while striking out 6 batters. Kaden Kneip took over in relief, showcasing his own pitching prowess with 2 scoreless innings, holding the Eagles hitless and recording 2 strikeouts to seal the Lions' resounding victory.
