Shreveport, LA - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions faced off against the formidable No. 3 LSU Shreveport University (LSUS) Pilots in a high-stakes showdown on the diamond. Anticipation was high as both teams brought their A-game to Shreveport, Louisiana, for what promised to be a thrilling nine-inning battle.

Lions Review
Despite their best efforts, the Lions were unable to overcome the dominance of LSU Shreveport, ultimately succumbing to a resounding 10-0 defeat. Offensively, the Lions struggled to find their rhythm, with only CJ Ricondo managing to break through the Pilots' formidable defense, notching a solitary hit and a double in his lone at-bat. 

On the mound, Neco Lopez shouldered the burden for the Lions, displaying flashes of brilliance with his fastball reaching speeds of up to 93 mph. However, even Lopez's impressive performance couldn't stem the tide of the Pilots' relentless offense. Over five innings of work, Lopez conceded three earned runs on two hits, two walks, while striking out five batters. Unfortunately, the Lions' bullpen allowed an additional seven earned runs on six hits and five walks, sealing their fate in a one-sided affair.

Looking Ahead
The Lions will regroup and prepare for an upcoming conference doubleheader against Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, scheduled for March 22nd.
