Plainview, TX - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions concluded their intense conference series against the Wayland Baptist University (WBU) Pioneers in Plainview, Texas, on a bittersweet note Saturday afternoon.

In the series finale, the Lions battled fiercely but ultimately succumbed to a 5-2 defeat against the Wayland Pioneers. Jaxson Bates showcased his power at the plate, launching a home run and contributing an RBI. Despite valiant efforts from Eli Lyons, Nick Mosley, and Wesley Flatt, the Lions couldn't muster enough offensive firepower to overcome Wayland's strong pitching. On the mound, Reagan Smith displayed resilience despite the loss, while Neco Lopez and Kaden Kneip showcased their pitching prowess in relief roles.

The Lions now shift their focus to their upcoming matchup against Wiley College on March 26 in Marshall, Texas.
