Marshall, TX - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions brought their A-game to Marshall, Texas, facing off against Wiley College in a thrilling nine-inning showdown.
Lions Review
The Lions emerged triumphant with a commanding 10-4 victory over Wiley College. Leading the charge at the plate was Xavien Thompson, going 3 for 4 with a double, contributing a run, and notching an RBI. Andrew Ortiz showcased his prowess, batting 1 for 2 with a double, crossing the plate twice, and adding an RBI to the tally. Timothy Compomizzi smashed a home run, scoring twice and driving in an impressive 3 RBIs. Nick Mosley and Josh Pinter also made their mark, each delivering crucial RBIs to bolster the Lions' lead.
On the mound, Justin De Los Santos set the tone with 2 innings of scoreless pitching, followed by Hayden Mullins, who maintained the Lions' dominance with another pair of scoreless innings. While Cade Hendricks conceded 2 earned runs, Matthew Hickey stepped up, claiming the win with a stellar inning that saw him strike out the side. Kaden Kneip and relievers Jadon Harper and Trevor Proefrock closed out the game flawlessly, securing the Lions' well-deserved victory.
