Waxahachie, TX - In an electrifying showdown, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) baseball team rose to the occasion as they clashed with the nationally-ranked Oklahoma City University (OCU) Stars in a pivotal nine-inning battle to kick off their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series.

In a thrilling opener, the Lions secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the formidable OCU Stars. Andrew Ortiz showcased his clutch hitting, going 1 for 4 and driving in two crucial RBIs. Jaxson Bates ignited the offense with a powerful home run, while Alejandro Garcia and Wesley Flatt contributed with timely hits. On the mound, Ethan Nors delivered a masterful performance, pitching 6.1 dominant innings, conceding no runs on just 4 hits, and striking out 8 batters. Hayden Mullins and Reagan Smith provided solid relief pitching to seal the win, with Smith notching the save.

With momentum on their side, the Lions aim to clinch the series as they face off against the OCU Stars in a doubleheader on Saturday evening at 12 PM and 2 PM in Waxahachie.
