Austin, TX - In a thrilling nine-inning showdown, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions baseball team showcased their dominance, clinching a 14-9 victory against Huston Tillotson University as they traveled to Austin, Texas Tuesday afternoon.
Lions Review
The Lions' offense was firing on all cylinders, led by standout performances from Andrew Ortiz, Dominick Padilla, and Nick Mosley. Ortiz went 3 for 6 with a double, scoring three runs and tallying four RBIs, while Padilla and Mosley each contributed three hits, with Padilla adding a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, and Mosley chipping in with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs. Jared Kirk also made his mark, launching a home run to further solidify the Lions' offensive onslaught.
On the mound, Justin De Los Santos earned the win with a strong performance, pitching three innings and striking out five while allowing three earned runs on six hits. Kaden Kneip provided solid relief, allowing just one hit in his inning of work. However, Jadon Harper faced some challenges, surrendering five earned runs on four hits, but Reagan Smith stepped up, striking out three in 2.2 innings and allowing just one earned run on three hits. Hayden Mullins sealed the deal, pitching two flawless innings, not allowing any hits or runs.

Looking ahead, the Lions are gearing up for their next challenge as they prepare to face off against the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, OK on April 27th at 6:00 PM.
