Lady Lions ReviewÂ
Game 1 proved to be a masterclass performance for the Lady Lions as they dominated the diamond with a resounding 6-0 victory over Langston. Sasha Jennings ignited the offense, going 1 for 4 and crossing the plate for a run, while Trista Ford showcased her hitting prowess, notching a crucial double and scoring a run. Cadence Hopgood emerged as a standout performer, going a perfect 3 for 3 with a triple and driving in an impressive 4 RBIs. The offensive onslaught continued with contributions from Brooke Kinnibrugh, Makinzy Kneip, Abigail Muniz, Madyson Wiggins, and Myranda Lewis, collectively propelling the Lady Lions to victory. On the mound, Trista Ford delivered a stellar performance, pitching a complete game shutout while allowing only 3 hits and racking up 6 strikeouts, solidifying the Lady Lions' dominance in Game 1.
However, Game 2 saw a reversal of fortunes as the Lady Lions narrowly fell to Langston, with a final score of 2-1. Despite a valiant effort at the plate from Sasha Jennings, Cadence Hopgood, Madyson Wiggins, and Myranda Lewis, who each contributed hits, the Lady Lions struggled to replicate their earlier offensive prowess. Trista Ford continued to lead by example, going 2 for 4 and scoring a run, while McKenzie Schulze added to the scoreboard with a crucial RBI double. On the mound, Valerie Guzman showcased her talent, despite taking the loss, allowing only 2 earned runs off 3 hits and tallying 3 strikeouts in her 5 innings of work.
