Hall’s 28-Point Showcase Leads Nelson to Convincing Win Over Panhandle State

January, 30, 2025

Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lions flexed their muscle in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play on Thursday night, delivering a 76-54 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State University at the Sheaffer Center.

From the opening tip, CJ Hall was locked in, putting on a scoring clinic with 28 points, knocking down 14-of-16 free throws, and dishing out 7 assists to guide the Lions to their 16th win of the season. Hall's relentless attack fueled Nelson's strong 39-29 halftime advantage, and they never looked back.

Alongside Hall, JJ Boling provided a major spark, finishing with 16 points while shooting an efficient 7-for-10 from the field. Preston Lawrence was lights-out from beyond the arc, drilling four three-pointers on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting night, totaling 14 points.

Nelson's defense was relentless, forcing 22 OPSU turnovers, leading to 30 points off turnovers. The Lions also dominated in transition, racking up 19 fast-break points, and held the Aggies to just 21.4% from three-point range.

With the win, the Lions improved to 16-6 overall and 14-4 (1st place) in SAC play, solidifying their standing in the conference race.
