FORT WORTH, Texas | Nov. 14, 2025 — With the stakes high and the lights bright inside the Sid Richardson Center, the Nelson University Lady Lions delivered a three-set masterclass to punch their ticket to the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship match. Nelson swept Oklahoma Panhandle State University (25–14, 25–19, 25–14) in dominant fashion to advance to Saturday night's title game in Fort Worth.
From first serve to match point, Nelson controlled the tempo with crisp ball movement, steady serve-receive, and an attacking rhythm that left OPSU scrambling. The Lady Lions hit an impressive .295 as a team, showcasing efficiency and poise on the postseason stage.
Nelson's offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Alexandra Bonnett, who hammered down 11 kills (.455) while adding key contributions on defense. Addison Standley was equally electric, putting away 10 kills (.333) and staying aggressive from pin to pin. Caroline Boone added 8 kills, powering Nelson through long rallies with timely swings.
Middle blocker Samantha Moore had one of her sharpest postseason outings, recording 5 kills on .625 hitting and stacking up 6 block assists to anchor the front-row defense.
Setter Taylor Cavazos piloted the offense with command, dishing out 20 assists and adding an ace, while Cassidy Hargesheimer kept the tempo crisp with 10 assists of her own. The back row was equally steady, Maci Sons, Chloe Munoz, and Bonnett combined for more than two dozen digs, allowing Nelson to stay in system and dictate pace throughout.
The Lady Lions wasted no time setting a tone, tearing through Set 1 with a .355 hitting percentage and riding their serve pressure to force OPSU out of rhythm. The momentum carried into Set 2 as Nelson weathered OPSU's best run of the afternoon, responding with ball control and precision. By Set 3, Nelson had taken full command, closing out the sweep with discipline, communication, and postseason confidence.
