Waxahachie, TX | Nov 17 - Nelson University kicker Cade Whitehead has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday morning. The recognition follows a flawless performance that played a pivotal role in the Lions' 26–21 victory over Texas College.
Whitehead delivered a perfect outing on special teams, contributing eight total points in the win. He went 2-for-2 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals, drilling a confident 30-yarder that proved crucial in the tight Senior Day matchup. In a game that demanded steady execution, Whitehead's precision became the difference-maker.
Other nominees for the weekly honor included Preston Baker (Louisiana Christian), Maddox Plazek (Wayland Baptist), Octavio Resendiz (Langston), and Carlos Vazquez (Oklahoma Panhandle State) but Whitehead's perfect performance stood above the rest.
