Box Score Oklahoma City, OK | Nov. 7, 2025 — The Nelson University Lady Lions extended their undefeated start to the season with a dominant 89–54 victory over Mission University on Friday evening inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
Nelson wasted no time asserting control, building a 17–10 lead after the opening quarter before locking down defensively in the second to hold Mission to just seven points. The Lady Lions' balanced attack flourished as the game wore on, showcasing their depth and offensive rhythm.
Forward Kate Miller led the charge with a game-high 20 points, connecting on two three-pointers and converting 8-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Presley Wheeler came off the bench and provided an instant spark, dropping 14 points on an efficient 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Lauryn Scalice matched that total with her own 14-point outing, also hitting four triples to keep the offense humming.
Nelson's bench delivered a staggering 49 points, outscoring Mission's reserves nearly four-to-one. The Lady Lions also controlled the glass, posting a 48–33 rebounding advantage, fueled by Alyssa O'Malley's 10 rebounds and Cailyn Tucker's five.
Head Coach Son's squad showcased its hallmark transition energy, forcing 17 Mission turnovers that translated into 17 points on the other end. The Lady Lions also dominated second-chance opportunities (19–7) and fast-break points (11–0), overwhelming Mission with relentless pace and poise.
With the win, Nelson improved to 3–0 on the season, continuing to climb through early Sooner Athletic Conference play.
