Lions Roar Into Postseason with Statement Win, CJ Hall Joins the 1,000-Point Club

February 24, 2025

Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lions closed out their regular season in dominant fashion, securing a 90-75 victory over the College of the Ozarks on Monday night at the Sheaffer Center. The Lions set the tone for their postseason run as the No. 1 seed in the SAC Tournament.

Before tip-off, Nelson University honored CJ Hall, who cemented his place in program history by reaching the 1,000-career point milestone. The senior guard continued his stellar play, posting 15 points and 8 assists to cap off a memorable night.

The Lions wasted no time establishing control, racing to a 52-36 halftime lead behind hot shooting and relentless defense. Nelson shot 52.5% from the field in the first half and controlled the boards with 29 rebounds, setting the stage for their 21st win of the season.

Despite a push from the Bobcats in the second half, the Lions maintained their composure, responding with key three-pointers and transition buckets to seal the win.
