Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lady Lions wrapped up their 2024-25 season Monday night at the Sheaffer Center, falling 94-77 to the College of the Ozarks in a contest marked by perseverance, strong finishes, and a historic personal achievement.
Senior Autumn Moore delivered a defining performance, scoring her 1,000th career point in front of the home crowd. Moore's determination and leadership on the court were on full display as she recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, solidifying her place in Lady Lions history.
The Lady Lions struggled to find their rhythm early, trailing 52-27 at halftime. However, they responded with a spirited second-half effort, outscoring the Bobcats in the fourth quarter 29-22. The offensive surge was fueled by key three-pointers from Lauryn Scalice (10 points) and Ashley Gonzalez (10 points), along with the all-around play of Wendy Clemmons, who notched eight points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists—nearly securing a triple-double.
Despite the loss, the Lady Lions showcased resilience, particularly in the final stretch, demonstrating the growth and fight that have defined their season.
