Waxahachie, TX – In a hard-fought weekend series at the Lions Athletic Complex, the Nelson University Lions baseball team took the field for a crucial SAC showdown against the visiting Wayland Baptist Pioneers. Over the course of three tightly contested games, the Lions showcased offensive firepower, but ultimately fell just shy in each outing.

Game 1
The weekend opened with a defensive duel early on, but Wayland Baptist's bats woke up in the middle innings. The Lions struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, managing just one run in the contest. Despite the loss, several key defensive plays kept the game within reach until a late surge from the Pioneers sealed the win.
Game 2
Game two of Saturday's doubleheader brought a much tighter battle. The Lions came out swinging, putting pressure on the Pioneers early. Even as the Lions mounted a thrilling ninth-inning comeback attempt, the game ended with the tying run stranded.
