Shreveport, LA — Nelson University Baseball gave the top-ranked LSU Shreveport Pilots all they could handle through four innings, but a late offensive surge helped LSUS remain unbeaten with a 13–3 win in Tuesday's rematch.
The Lions (23–21) struck first and showed offensive grit, collecting eight hits and holding the lead at several points in the early going. Andrew Ortiz continued his strong stretch at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI single, while Xavien Thompson and Nick Mosley each added two hits of their own. Mosley also scored twice, and Josh Pinter delivered a key RBI in the fourth.
After taking a 3–2 lead into the bottom of the third, the Lions saw the tide turn as the Pilots (41–0) capitalized on errors and strung together key extra-base hits. Despite solid offensive execution and some quality at-bats, Nelson's bullpen couldn't contain the late-game pressure, as LSUS plated ten unanswered runs to seal the win.
