Box Score Fort Worth, TX | January 12, 2026 — The Nelson University Lady Lions delivered a poised and powerful road performance Monday night, knocking off Texas Wesleyan 82–70 inside the Sid Richardson Center in Sooner Athletic Conference action.
Nelson set the tone early and never let it slip. After building a 41–34 cushion at the halftime break, the Lady Lions came out of the locker room with purpose, unleashing their most dominant stretch of the night in the third quarter. Nelson poured in 25 points in the period, shooting a scorching 61.5% from the field, to stretch the lead to 66–50 and firmly seize control of the contest.
Paris Miller was electric once again, leading all scorers with 19 points while knocking down three triples and pulling down nine rebounds. Her confident shot-making and steady presence fueled Nelson's offensive rhythm throughout the night. Lauryn Scalice added a game-high 22 points, connecting on five three-pointers and applying constant pressure from the perimeter. Abby Boyce chipped in a strong all-around effort with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Kate Miller anchored the interior with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and a perfect 8-for-10 performance from the free-throw line.
The Lady Lions' efficiency told the story. Nelson finished the night shooting 44.1% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc, while also winning the rebounding battle 41–26. The Lions' defensive activity limited Texas Wesleyan to 35.6% shooting overall, helping Nelson absorb a late push in the fourth quarter and close out the road win with composure.
With the victory, Nelson improves to 12–2 overall and 8–2 in SAC play, continuing to stack quality conference wins away from home.
