Waxahachie, Texas – The Lady Lions returned home Tuesday to face the Mid-America Christian Evangels in front of their home crowd. Nelson battled throughout the match and kept the contest close until the very end, but a late goal by the Evangels proved to be the difference as the Lady Lions fell 1-0.
The Lady Lions and Evangels battled in a tightly contested match, with both teams creating offensive opportunities but struggling to find the back of the net. The goalkeepers on both sides delivered strong performances, keeping the match scoreless through the majority of the match.
Mid-America Christian recorded seven saves, while Nelson goalkeeper
Delaney Murphy finished with eight. Murphy kept the Lady Lions in the match from start to finish, holding the Evangels scoreless until the 81st minute. However, the late goal ultimately proved to be the difference as Nelson fell 1-0.
