Waxahachie, TX- The Nelson Lady Lions continued their dominant run in conference place with a 3-0 victory over Langston University today at the Sheaffer Center.
In their last regular season home game, the Lady Lions came out and left no doubt why they are the conference champs. With a total of 38 kills and a 39% hitting percentage, the Nelson offense was firing on all cylinders.
With another outstanding performance, hitter
Caroline Boone fueled Nelson's offense as she tallied a match high 11 kills.
Mackenzie Smith also joined in on the action, bringing in 9 kills as well.
Setters
Cassidy Hargesheimer and
Ashlyn Cavazos distributed the ball to their hitters exceptionally well as they totaled for 28 assists together.
Defensively,
Hailey Nixon led the team in digs with a total of 8. While
Chloe Munoz and
Taylor Felux were able to collect 15 collectively. As a team, the Lady Lions totaled 36 digs during the match.
Sawyer Pontin made her presence felt at the night, recording 4 blocks during the match. Smith was not far behind as she also recorded 3 blocks, bringing Nelson's team total to 13. The Lady Lions held Langston to a negative hitting percentage, dominating the match up and securing the win.
With this win, the Lady Lions move to 24-4 on the year and 20-0 in conference play.

The Lady Lions will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Plainview, TX to face off against Wayland Baptist on Friday, November 6th at 6:00 PM. Following that match they will travel to Goodwell, OK for their final regular season match up against Oklahoma Panhandle State Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 PM.
